Release note: SAP reports on WhatsApp, rich UI5 dashboards, and voice AI

Table of Contents

SAP reports are more useful when people can receive them in time, understand the data quickly, and complete the next step.

Insight Zap supports these parts of daily SAP work through WhatsApp distribution, richer SAPUI5 dashboards, and voice interaction with Zappy AI. The capabilities are available for ECC6 and above, including S/4HANA.

Insight Zap messages can land directly in WhatsApp

Insight Publisher provides an SAP WhatsApp integration through the official Meta WhatsApp Cloud API.

It can send TXT, XLS, XLSX, and PDF files. XML and JSON can also be sent as text. Outbound messages use pre-approved WhatsApp templates, and the template name and approval status are visible when the Publisher job is configured.

SAP administrators can block specific phone numbers and monitor outgoing messages from SAP.

This is useful for plant, warehouse, field, sales, and management users who may not work continuously in SAP. A configured Publisher job can deliver:

  • A daily list of production orders at risk
  • A PDF containing delivery or shipment exceptions
  • An Excel file showing purchase requisitions that need review
  • A scheduled operational report for a field manager

The report can be generated and distributed without someone exporting and forwarding it manually. The SAP team maintains the job, recipient controls, templates, and message monitoring from SAP.

Rich SAPUI5 dashboards for daily operational work

Insight Zap dashboards in SAPUI5 support pivot tables alongside the main report and KPIs. Users can summarize data, review totals, and move between high-level indicators and individual records from the same dashboard.

KPIs recalculate when users filter, group, change layouts, update variables, or edit input columns. A planner who filters a report by plant, date, or order status immediately sees KPIs and pivot tables based on the filtered records.

Active filters are displayed in a dedicated information bar, where users can review, change, or remove them. Quick filtering is also available directly from a column. This makes it clearer which data is included in the dashboard at any point.

The dashboard also displays total and filtered record counts, opens long text in a readable dialog, and provides a clearer grouping area. On mobile devices, dashboard tiles adjust to the full width of the screen.

These capabilities help users work with operational SAP data from SAPUI5 without relying on a separate spreadsheet to summarize or filter the report.

Talk to Zappy AI to ask, build, and execute

Zappy AI supports speech-to-text, allowing users to speak their questions and instructions instead of typing them.

Using voice or text, a user can ask Zappy to analyze an SAP report, filter or sort the results, create formulas, set comments or input values, and execute an available function.

Zappy supports all formula functions available in the system, including custom local functions. This allows it to work with the formulas and calculation logic already used in the SAP environment.

It also handles SAP conversion routines, case-sensitive content, and user-specific date, time, and number formats. When the report is refreshed, the chat updates to reflect the current data.

Before an action is confirmed, Zappy displays how many records will be affected. After the function runs, the result is returned to the conversation as either a success message or a detailed error. Zappy can then suggest a correction or the next step.

For example, a production planner could say:

  1. “Show me the production orders at risk this month.”
  2. “Group them by plant and calculate the overdue days.”
  3. “Add a follow-up comment to the selected orders.”
  4. “Run the available function for those records.”

The planner sees the number of affected records before confirming and receives the execution result in the same conversation.

See these capabilities in your SAP environment

If your team regularly exports a report, rebuilds it in a spreadsheet, forwards it manually, or moves between the report and another SAP transaction to complete the work, show us that process.

We can demonstrate how the same report can be distributed through WhatsApp, used as a richer SAPUI5 dashboard, or handled through voice and text with Zappy AI.
