Overview
Insight Zap Change Log Viewer module is a comprehensive yet simple, intuitive and easy to use, All-in-One search engine within SAP’s huge log activity database tables. It is an extremely practical utility, used daily, tracing specific log activities according to object classes. Insight Zap Change Log Viewer module provides a new user experience by getting instant clarity about what happens in the business.
Insight Zap Change Log Viewer module streamlines the complex search per specific object class; it addresses all object classes in one application, from one focal point. Its flexible search engine allows employees to search large amounts of log activity data within their organization in a fast, focused and efficient way. The search is performed within the CDHDR and CDPOS (huge) log tables.
Insight Zap Change Log Viewer module uses dynamic object class search. Additional search parameters are dynamically set according to the selected object class. The log activity data is conveyed clearly, quickly and accurately. Specific log activity data can be viewed by all relevant people, per request. Its distribution is easily performed in conjunction with Insight Publisher, on any media and on any format, at every user’s convenience.
Search for Changes
This section will show how to use Insight Zap Change Log Viewer to search and analyze changes that have been done by users in your SAP system.
Insight Zap Change Log Viewer keeps track of much more data and allows better ways to search and analyze the changes than SAP standard.
- Login to SAP
- Go to the Insight Zap Change Log Viewer transaction in ‘/DCM/CLEAR_LOG – Clear Log ‘. You might want to save this transaction in your favorites.
The following window will open:
The screen is separated into two areas:
On the left panel:
- Help button – this button opens two direct links
- User Guide – a direct link to the Insight Zap knowledgeable website.
- Release Notes – a direct link to the Insight Zap release notes document.
- Open Service Ticket – a direct link to Insight Zap’s support team where you may open a ticket.
- Favorite – you mark Insight Zap Change Log Viewer variants as your favorite – by clicking on an Insight Creator variant will execute it directly.
- Recently Used – A list of your previously used Insight Zap Change Log Viewer variants – by clicking on a Changer variant will execute it directly.
On the right panel:
A select option and parameters that will help you narrow the list of the available Insight Zap Change Log Viewer variants.

Pre-selection won’t be executed in such case. |

| Old value – Internal | Allows the search of the original value in a field regardless of the user default masks. i.e date ‘19001201’ |

Dynamic Search of Changes by Object Class
One of the main features of Insight Zap Change Log Viewer is the dynamic search by Object Class.
This means that unlike SAP standard Insight Zap Change Log Viewer enables the user to search using additional fields per selected Object Class.
- Object class parameters are displayed directly from SAP standard tables.
- Object class is a dynamic field, selected from the table above.
- A dynamic view per object class displays additional search parameters according to the selected object class.
In case another parameter is relevant, the search parameters will update accordingly.
To search this way do as followed:
- choose a specific object in the Object section screen (the second option in the object radio box).
- Select an object from the list and hit the Enter Key.
The general search criteria will move down and a new selection box based on the object selected will appear.

Dynamic Search of Changes by Object Class

Analyse Changes
Insight Zap Change Log Viewer Changes Monitor displays the search results records. Each line is a full log record.
Click on a log record line will display in detail the changes in each and every log record.
Timeline
Mark a relevant line and then click on the time line to view the history of the field.
